26 years ago, a Guardian and BBC TV investigative reporter, Greg Palast, discovered that 58,000 Black men were purged from Florida's voter rolls, supposedly convicted felons. In fact, their only crime: VWB—Voting While Black.
George W. Bush became president by just 534 votes in Florida, after the Black men were barred from voting.
